ADHD, Anxiety, or Burnout? Therapy for Women in Kansas City Who Feel Overwhelmed
I help Kansas City women make sense of their stress, emotions, and ADHD symptoms—so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.
When Your Brain Feels Like a Battle, Everything Gets Harder
You didn’t choose this overwhelm, but it shows up every day. Maybe you’re exhausted from years of masking, powering through, and wondering why everything feels harder for you than it does for everyone else. Maybe your mind doesn’t feel like a safe place anymore. And you’re grieving the version of you that felt focused, light, or in control—even if she only existed in flashes.
Whether you’ve been officially diagnosed with ADHD or you’re just now starting to connect the dots, your mental and emotional health deserves care. You’re not broken—you’re burnt out, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
ADHD Affects More Than Just Focus
If you’re like many of my clients, you may also be dealing with:
Feeling overwhelmed by even “simple” tasks like laundry, emails, or remembering appointments
Shame or guilt for being “scatterbrained,” “messy,” or “too emotional”
Relationship tension because your needs feel misunderstood or minimized
Constant anxiety from trying to stay organized, productive, and "on top of things"
Exhaustion from masking and pretending you have it together when inside it feels chaotic
Mental burnout from running on overdrive for years just to keep up
You might start to believe you’re just “too much” or “not enough.”
But what you’re feeling isn’t failure—it’s the result of pushing through life without the support your brain really needs.
Why I Offer ADHD Therapy for Women in Kansas City
I became a therapist because I understand how overwhelming and isolating life can feel when your brain doesn’t operate the way the world expects it to. In my Kansas City-based therapy practice, I work with women who have spent years blaming themselves for being too scattered, too emotional, or not productive enough—when in reality, they were doing their best with a brain that was never fully understood or supported.
My therapy approach is warm, trauma-informed, and centered around compassion. Whether you’re in Kansas City or joining me through secure telehealth in Missouri or Kansas, you’ll find a safe space where your full experience is welcome. There’s no need to have it all together here—just come as you are.

We’ll typically meet weekly, especially for the first six months. Weekly sessions give us the consistency needed to build a strong relationship, understand patterns, and start creating lasting change. This regular rhythm supports deeper work and helps you get more out of the process. After six months, we’ll check in on how things are progressing, but in most cases, weekly sessions continue to offer the most benefit.

I work with women who feel overwhelmed, scattered, burnt out, or like they’re constantly “behind” in life. Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed or have always felt like your brain worked differently, I can help you explore what’s really going on—without shame or judgment. Together we’ll unpack things like executive dysfunction, emotional intensity, rejection sensitivity, and the mental load of masking.

This is so common. Many women with ADHD excel in their careers or personal lives—but it often comes at a high cost behind the scenes. ADHD doesn’t mean you’re incapable. It means you’ve likely developed powerful coping strategies, but you may also be exhausted from keeping it all together. Success and struggle can exist side by side—and therapy can help you experience both with more clarity and self-compassion.
-
Yes. While therapy isn’t a substitute for medication, it can help you build awareness, identify patterns, and develop personalized strategies that actually work for your brain. Therapy also addresses the emotional side of ADHD—like shame, anxiety, identity confusion, and that nagging voice that says “I should have figured this out by now.”

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to start therapy. If you relate to ADHD struggles—like distractibility, overwhelm, impulsivity, or emotional dysregulation—I’m happy to meet you right where you are. Together we can explore what makes sense for you, whether that means pursuing a diagnosis or simply building more supportive systems for daily life.
If you're looking for medication management, I’ll refer you to a trusted psychiatrist. I’m happy to collaborate with them as part of your care.
While I can diagnose ADHD, I typically refer to psychologists for formal evaluations, especially when testing is needed. These assessments often don’t include ongoing weekly therapy—that’s where I come in. I can be a consistent support while you navigate the diagnostic process and beyond. -
Not necessarily. ADHD impacts many areas of life—relationships, work, self-esteem, emotional health—so we’ll talk about whatever feels most important to you. Sometimes we’ll focus on practical strategies. Other times we’ll go deeper into past experiences or identity exploration. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. It’s your space.

That’s completely okay. Starting therapy can feel intimidating—especially when your brain is juggling a million tabs at once. I’ll help you slow down, get grounded, and take it one step at a time. You don’t need to have a plan—you just need to show up. I’ll meet you there.
